The travel bug bit me years ago, and the anticipation of an upcoming trip is the best feeling in the world. Growing up shuttling between Portugal and The Netherlands due to my parents’ origins, travel became an integral part of my life.
My love for retelling my adventures, sharing travel tips, and discussing unforgettable moments has always been a joy. Coupled with my deep passion for photography, I find immense fulfillment in capturing and sharing the beauty of my journeys.
A turning point point occurred a few years ago when I noticed a growing interest in travel tips for Portugal among those in my circle. With enthusiasm, I created a document featuring must-visit places, local insights, and delightful food spots. The overwhelmingly positive responses inspired me to embark on this blogging journey, sharing my experiences and helping others explore the wonders of not only Portugal but also other parts of the world.
The thought of sharing my adventures and hidden gems with you gives me a warm feeling.
In my blog, I usually avoid the usual touristy stuff you find in every guidebook. Instead, I like digging into cool corners, lovely parks, awesome places to eat, and interesting detours that give your travel a unique vibe.
WHO AM I?
I’m Ana, a blend of Portuguese and Dutch heritage. Born in Eindhoven (Netherlands) and later moving to Portugal at the age of four, I experienced an amazing and carefree childhood marked by a vibrant joie de vivre. At 12, my family relocated to Belgium due to my father’s job, presenting the challenge of starting anew in an unfamiliar country. Despite the initial difficulty, I navigated through, maintaining cherished friendships.
Later, I moved to Tilburg in The Netherlands for my studies and spent four enriching years in Maastricht. Post-graduation, with newfound financial freedom, I embarked on my own adventures.
I spent four years in Maastricht, five in Rotterdam, embarked on nearly a year of travel, resided for two years in Voorburg, and currently call Berkel and Rodenrijs home—a serene countryside spot nestled between The Hague and Rotterdam.
Previously working as a child and youth protector/guardian, I took a leap in September 2020, quitting my job to explore the world and follow my passion for travel.
During my free time, I enjoy the company of friends and family, discovering new places, indulging in a cup of coffee, immersing myself in books, giving attention to my cat Mai Tai, and letting my mind wander into dreams of upcoming adventures.
