The famous travel bug has bitten me many years ago and for me the best feeling in the world is knowing that a trip is coming up.
As far as I can remember I’ve been traveling back and forth from Portugal to The Netherlands due to my parents and their origin.
I’ve always enjoyed talking about my travels – where I went, what I did and what not to miss. Next to this I have a great passion for photography.
A few years ago I noticed that many people in my surroundings asked for travel tips about Portugal. With a lot of pleasure I made a document with places not to miss, local tips and nice food spots. The reactions were very positive and enthusiastic that it inspired me to start this blog.
The thought of sharing my adventures and hidden gems with you gives me a warm feeling.
I usually don’t mention the classic highlights of a place in my blog because you’ll find these in every guide book. I focus more on the unique corners, beautiful parks, great food spots and interesting detours.
WHO AM I?
My name is Ana and I’m half Portuguese and half dutch. I was born in Eindhoven (Netherlands) and when I was four I moved to Portugal. I had the most amazing and careless time there. The joie de vivre was very present. After seven years me and my family moved to Belgium because of my fathers job. I have to admit that it wasn’t easy at the age of 12 to leave my friends behind and start over in an unknown country. Luckily I found my way through and I’m happy to say that I’ve maintained contact with the best ones.
I moved to The Netherlands (Tilburg) to study and lived in Maastricht for four years. It was after my studies that I had the financial opportunity to start my own travels. Now I live in Rotterdam for five years and I love it here.
I worked as a child and youth protector/ guardian and since september 2020 I quit my job to travel the world.
I like to spend my free time with friends & family, exploring new places, drink coffee, read books, pet my cat Mai Tai and dreaming away of travels to come.
WHY READ THIS BLOG?
Before I explore a new place I like to do some research. I’m curious to know about the nice authentic coffee and diner spots. Some hidden gems can be found by yourself while exploring the place and in other occasions they can be found online or through people you meet along the way.
I usually don’t mention the classic highlights of a place in my blog because you’ll find these in every guide book. I focus more on the unique corners, beautiful parks, great food spots and interesting detours.
I’m always looking for that little extra and I’m happy to share the experiences and tips with you to make your trip more special.
